This was so much fun! I was truly sorry the story ended; I would have liked it to go on longer. I was drawn right into the imagined story of Will Shakespeare's plays and how they were staged, and descriptions of the old theatre, etc. The details were fascinating. Much to my surprise I had no difficulty following the "olde English" style of text.It amazed me that there were footnotes every so often describing little interesting details about Queen Elizabeth One, and of relevant people and events of the times, and also the city of London and the countryside of the 1600s. This seemed more like a true adventure than fiction. (It was fiction, wasn't it?) In fact, I'm even tempted to go research manuscripts or documents to see if there's any mention of Sir Hal Marryott!
I've now downloaded another book by the same author. I hope it will be as entertaining as this was.
